Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani will perform at the inaugural People Magazine Awards. Stefani will play her Pharrell-produced latest single, "Spark The Fire," released in anticipation of her third solo album -- the first since 2006's The Sweet Escape.

5 Seconds of Summer and Maroon 5 will also hit the stage at the awards show, which is hosted by Nick Cannon and will be broadcast by live on NBC on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 9 p.m. EST. The crowd will include comedians (Kevin Hart, Billy Eichner), musicians (Josh Groban, Jennifer Lopez) and actors from film and TV, like Jeff Bridges, Mindy Kaling, and Kate Hudson. 

But the People Magazine Awards aren't only for stars: to encourage mass participation, the best People cover of the year will be determined by popular vote. (You can tweet your pick with the hashtag #PEOPLEMagazineAwards.)
