Stars. They’re just like us! They even commit crimes like regular folks do. Remember, just because someone is famous, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not infamous. Case in point, here are ten celebs you might not know are criminals. From DUIs, to horrific assaults and even murder, you wouldn’t believe or might not remember that some of our favorite movie, television, sports, film and reality stars have spent anywhere from hours to years in the pokey. Just because someone is famous, doesn’t mean they don’t get charged with a crime. Or do they? While some celebs (actually quite a few) have gotten away with murder, not all have been able to get off so scot-free. Timing is everything and some of the celebs committed crimes as their stars were rising and others when they were shining brightly, but several happened after their stars had tragically fallen, tragically being the operative word.

Amy Locane is best known for her role as a resident of Melrose Place. But, now she is known as a resident of the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for women. In February 2013, she was sentenced to three years in prison after she was convicted of vehicular manslaughter. In 2010, Locane crashed her car, killing a 60 year old woman and severely injuring her husband. Her blood alcohol was 3 times legal limit for impairment. The family of the victim was not happy with her sentence and called it a travesty. Locane received the minimum possible sentence because the judge took into consideration that she has two young daughters, one of whom has Crohn’s Disease.
